Sponsors of Dancing with the Stars Columbus Style have decided to cancel the 2021 installment of the event, saying it was a difficult decision but the health and safety of participants and audience members is the top concern.
However, Children Inc. Learning Center and Family School Partners said the need for funding support for the two agencies that is usually provided by the event remains greater than ever.
The agencies said they have extended their services beyond the normal mission to assist and direct families to the services they need to get health care and financially survive the pandemic.
To make up for the loss of funds from the cancellation of the event, organizers are asking that community residents consider a donation to help the agencies continue providing services. For example, a donation of $20 provides education supplies for one month to a child and a donation of $50 provides two hours of home visiting services and translation assistance for a family, or three hours of eLearning assistance.
Donations may be made through the Dancing With the Stars Columbus Style website at dwtscolumbus.com.
