Nepalis underestimate skincare. Here’re 7 tips you need to follow daily

Many Nepali people are not conscious of their skin health and related problems. These problems are not even considered health problems by many Nepalis, citing the lack of awareness and other health priorities and needs.

Yet, many people wish to have healthy glowing and clear skin; whether they make any efforts to get so is a different story. Some find healthy clear skin unachievable whereas some find it time-consuming and expensive.

Whatever, it is clear that many people in Nepal lack skincare awareness.

But, not anymore, here is how you can take care of your skin:

1. Protect your skin from the sun

For healthy skin, it is a must to protect skin from sun damages. Exposing your skin to the sun can cause numerous skin problems including wrinkles, age spots, and even skin cancer. Besides, protecting skin from UV exposure, one should avoid direct heat exposures as well as acts of sitting close to fireplaces or heaters. It can cause collagen breakdown and inflammation.

In order to protect your skin from the sun, you need to generously apply sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30 and remember to reapply it every two hours. It is also suggested to avoid the sun during the daytime when the rays are strongest and wear sun ray-protective clothes such as hats, long pants and others.

Many people do not consider using sunscreen during winter days or rainy days, but the fact is that one needs to apply sunscreen every day, be it a sunny day or a gloomy day.

2. Hydrate your skin

Another important routine suggestion for taking good care of your skin is keeping the skin hydrated inside and out. The skin becomes dull, less radiant, and saggy when one does not drink adequate water. If not, the wrinkles and pores become more visible. Therefore, it is a must to drink plenty of water in order to keep the skin and body hydrated from within.

Also, it is equally significant to use products such as cleaners, moisturisers and others including hydrating formulas.

3. Consume healthy food

It is said that what you eat shows up on your face. So, maintaining a healthy diet can be very beneficial for your skin health. In order to maintain healthy skin, one should consume a diet incorporating fruits, whole grains, vegetables, and lean proteins, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and low in refined carbohydrates.

Eating healthy food boosts the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

4. Sleep well and smarter

Inadequate sleep triggers so many skin problems including acne and sagginess as the skin gets tired. Therefore, it is necessary to sleep eight hours a night for healthy and younger-looking skin. It is equally important to remove all the makeup, wash and moisture your skin before going to sleep.

One should also use clean silk pillowcases to sleep for healthy skin as well as hair.

5. Manage stress

Stress causes acne breakouts along with many other skin problems by causing the body to produce cortisol and other hormones. Moreover, stress makes the skin more sensitive.

So, one should take steps to control and avoid stress by practising stress management techniques such as doing yoga, meditation and exercise. Making yourself stress-free encourages healthy skin.

6. Avoid touching face

Touching your face can lead to spreading harmful bacteria and triggers acne breakouts. This bad habit also causes scarring, wrinkles and many more. For glowing healthy skin, one should avoid touching the face unnecessarily.

7. Follow skincare routine

One needs to treat their skin gently. For this, one should cleanse, moisturise their face timely, and use serums. Besides, one requires avoiding using string soaps and long and hot water showers.

One needs to use mild cleaners and moisturiser that suits their skin type. It is better to gently pat the skin dry with a towel to maintain the moisture in the skin.

Moreover, it is always better to get your skin checked up by professionals time and again and take care of your skin accordingly.
