Parmarth Niketan holds meditation and yoga session for G20 delegates

G20 delegates of the Infrastructure and Finances Working Group Wednesday took part in a special meditation and yoga session organised by the Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

The session was held at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ashram – known as the Beatles ashram – on the banks of the Ganga in Rishikesh.

Parmarth Rishikumars led a yoga demonstration, inviting delegates to do some stretches from their chairs and ended with a special meditation led by Yogacharya Ganga Nandiniji.

A release from the Ashram said that Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan, and Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, Director of the International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan, who were travelling abroad at the time, sent the message that global leaders and decision-makers must be grounded and possess a balanced state of mind to make policies that are pro-planet people, in the true spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world as one family. Yoga and Meditation as a lifestyle to ensure is a key element to ensuring this, they said.

The visit was a special excursion planned by the state government on the concluding day of the delegation’s visit to Uttarakhand, and included a tour through the Beatles Ashram.
